From the moment our first dog came to live with us, I was hooked - I can never imagine a life without the love of a dog

Melissa Bastin

I have always had a passion for photography, but growing up it was music that took me along my first career path. I never stopped photographing, however and most of my subjects were four legged!

Driven by my love of sport and animals I found myself drawn to photographing equestrian sports and polo in particular. Combining this with dog and field sports photography has been a wonderfully fulfilling combination.

“Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart as deep meditation and almost as good for the soul as prayer.”

– Dean Koontz

Teddy

I am lucky to share my adventures with the wonderful Teddy - a highly mischievous but unbelievably loving Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Affectionately known as Teddy Brexit (due to there being nothing in the news other than Brexit when he was born) you can follow his antics on Instagram

Teddy is my 5th Cavalier - they really are the best companions and have the delightful mix of loopy spaniel and lap dog.

My first dog was an ancient rescue Irish Setter called Matthew - equally dappy, but oh so affectionate.
